Internationally acclaimed as one of Scotland's finest fiddlers, Alasdair Fraser has been a featured performer on more than 50 BBC TV and radio shows, and on many programs in the States, including "A Prairie Home Companion." He is a native of Clarkmannan, Scotland, and is known for his spirited renditions of Gaelic melodies and pipe tunes as well as the strathspeys, reels and jigs at the heart of traditional Scottish fiddle music. His three albums, "Portrait of a Scottish Fiddler," "Skyedance," and "Full Circle" are available on Culburnie Records.
Alasdair's schedule features solo concerts and performances with his six-member baand: Eric Rigler, Chris Norman, Tim Gorman, Peter Maund and Michael McLinden. He has played with other artists and performed as a guest with groups as diverse as the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the Waterboys. He has played solo performances at the Lincoln Center in New York City with Itzak Perlman.
