This newly formed "High Energy" Group is taking the Canadian and US Celtic community by storm. Recently classified as a "fusion of High Energy Highland Scots, and Glengarry music", thus giving them that infectious Glengarry sound.
As the band's name suggests their home is Glengarry, a small Highland Scots community in eastern Ontario, where OUR music is not just a passing fancy but a way of life, where folks CEILIDH hard!
The Bhoys have played everything from quaint pubs to concerts of 35,000 people to playing a command performance for the Duke of Edinburgh. Where each show is packed with that high energy Highland Scots feel. With two CDs to their credit and a third on its way the boys are gaining international exposure. The Bhoys are currently (late 1998) Playing the Canadian and United States Circuits but are receiving requests from as far away as Scotland, Australia and Florida. The Bhoys are on their way.
The BAND:
Graham Wright:
Born in Ayrshire Scotland and moved to Glengarry county as a young
man, thus giving us a chance to purge whatever bad habits he had
picked up back home. Graham is young police officer in the
Glengarry region and was raised in a musical family. His
"Front Man" ability, singing, and magical guitar work solidifies
"The Tempest." Graham has gained some valuable experience by
playing with groups such as The Brigadoons, McMartin Fiddle and
the Cornwall Celtic Police Band and Millers Jug, which enhances
each performance.
Gaye (Ziggy) Stuart:
Born in Glendale, Glengarry Co. Ziggy is likewise a Police Officer
who still resides in Glengarry. From a long line of Pipers,
Dancers, and Singers, Ziggy played with the World Famous Glengarry
Pipe band Drum Corps for 12 years. He was also a original member
of the Brigadoons, and for 8 years he was an integral part of this
Glengarry group which is now renowned across North America. He was
also a member of McMartin Fiddle and the Cornwall Police Celtic Band. Ziggy plays Bodhran, Drums, and sings, but he can't juggle....
Bruce Blaney:
Born and raised in Maxville, Glengarry Co. Bruce is one of Canada's most innovative and solid Pipers. He was a member of the Glengarry Pipe band for 12 years. He cleaned up the "Boards" at every solo event he entered. Bruce's energetic approach to the Great highland Bagpipe is truly contagious. Did we mention he sings and plays bodhran and step dances, he is single, pretty and has his own car, just ask him he'll tell you the same thing....
Ewen McIntosh:
Born and raised in St Andrews, Ewen is one of the most talented
and most innovative bass players around. He is a member of the
Glengarry Pipe band. He step dances plays Bass, Piano, Tin Whistle
and sings. Ewen's spirited high energy approach to Celtic music
is a must-see. He brings youthful energy to this great band.
