The hammer throw and weight-for-height areas at Campbell have moved to the west end of the site. The Campbell Games have become one of the community's largest events and the current site is bursting at its seams.
Weight over the bar. Athletic events at Campbell, as at nearly all other California Games and Gatherings, are sanctioned by the SAAA (Scottish Amateur Athletic Association).
Although it's called Highland Dance, the same qualities of physical strength, stamina and agility required of athletes are mandatory for Highland dancers. Sometimes injuries happen. Here, a bandage wrapped by mom will help this dancer survive a National dance.
When the skirt and the sash need a little touch-up, who better to put things right than Norine Harmon of the San Jose School of Highland Dance.
