The Abbotsford Police Pipe Band became a reality in 1993 after being sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion since 1961. The band advanced to Grade I in 1992 and wone their first prize at the Portland Highland Games in 1993.

The band travels extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest, and, in 1996, made its first appearance at the San Francisco Caledonian Club's Highland Games in Pleasanton, California.
